Chapter Meeting Minutes
April 9, 2006

 

The meeting was called to order, at 1:30 by Donna Wessel, President. Board members present were Donna Wessel Pres. Gloria Falk VP, Marilyn Hartnett Prog. Chair, Josee Laferriere Newsletter Ed., Kay Vuichard Recording Sec., Lorie Reece Membership Chair. Attendance--- 47 members, 2 guests, 1 new member.

Joyce Miller gave the invocation. A motion to accept the Feb. Chapter minutes as published in the Newsletter was made by Carolyn Dawson, seconded by Vada Galvan and passed by a show of hands. The treasurer's report as published in the newsletter was accepted by a show of hands.

Marilyn Hartnett, Prog. Chair discussed the Christmas luncheon pricing and the need for volunteers. Several members answered the call. Vada Galvan answered questions about her upcoming sharing workshop. Mary Jo Kumer gave instructions for prepping the surface for the Janelle Johnson seminar.

Gloria Falk VP talked about Retreat. The project submissions were on display and the membership voted by ballot for the projects they would like to paint at Retreat. Tole Friends, an online group of artists conducted a memory box contest and Gateway won. The prize will be sent to Gloria. The members donated Easter Baskets, supplies and cash for Turning Point and Memory Boxes were collected. The Lincoln Trails Chapter SDP has invited any of our members interested to sign up for their upcoming seminar.

At the Teachers/Show & Tell table, Jo Lair brought the paintings she will be teaching over the Memorial Day weekend. Several members brought their completed projects from the Peggy Harris seminar and other paintings.

Josee Laferriere announced that the deadline for submissions to the next Newsletter is June 18.

Thank you to the refreshment committee for the refreshments and table decorations.

Allison Bacon asked for volunteers to paint 45 records for National and received a tremendous response from the members present.

Lovella Mauer won the attendance prize.

Mary Jo Kumer made a motion to adjourn the meeting seconded by Joan Love. The meeting was adjourned at 1:55.
